Bonnie Dittmann, PA-C
Bonnie Marie Dittmann PA-C (Physician Assistant Certified) is a native of North Carolina. Bonnie received her undergraduate degree in Biology/Chemistry at Appalachian State University and her masters in Physician Assistant Studies from East Carolina University. Bonnie moved to Northeastern Oregon in April 2010 to start her career as a primary care medical provider at the Elgin Clinic. She has since also worked at the Union Clinic. Bonnie is currently at La Grande Family Medicine where she has been serving patients since August 2016. Bonnie enjoys managing her own patient panel and has developed expertise in chronic disease management, including Diabetes, Hypertension, Hyperlipidemia, Kidney Disease and Heart Disease. Bonnie also performs physicals, Medicare wellness visits, well woman exams as well as family planning. When Bonnie is not at work, you can find her hiking, biking, skiing, rafting or running in the outdoors. She also enjoys spending time and adventuring with her husband and two kids
Bryan Conklin, MD
Dr. Bryan R. Conklin, is a Board certified physician in Family medicine and has been an Americas Top Physician for the past 18 years straight. He was raised in Oregon and once graduating from his Family Medicine Residency in Detroit Michigan at Providence Hospital, he immediately returned to Eastern Oregon, to Practice in La Grande and has been with La Grande Family Medicine now for 17 years. He is an active member of the community, Dr. Conklin has been Chief of Family Medicine at GRH, he continues to act as Medical Director of a local Hospice agency, as well as a participating physician serving at the Yellow Hawk Tribal Medicine Clinic. Prior to Medical school, Dr. Conklin graduated from Southern Utah University, with a degree in Business administration, after transferring from Brigham Young University, where he was in ROTC, and awarded the Distinguished Military Student, as well as awarded the Distinguished Military Graduate. Dr. Conklin had been an Officer in the United States Army, as an OH-58 Scout Pilot, and an AH-64 Apache attack helicopter pilot. At 19 years of age he served a 2 year mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day- Saints. Dr. Conklin strongly believes in God, Country and Community, and that everyone deserves a doctor who cares about the patient.
John Schaefer, MD
Dr. Schaefer was born in Rahway, New Jersey and attended college at Arizona State University where he graduated with a degree in Zoology. He went on to work in genetics at the University of Washington where he did DNA sequencing and cloning into fruit flies and also worked with the rural fire department in Bothal, Washington as a volunteer firefighter/EMT. From there he attended the Medical College of Wisconsin and graduated in 1992. He went to work at Valley Family Health Care in Payette, Idaho and Ontario, Oregon where he served as a medical director of 5 clinics before coming to La Grande in 2004. Since then he has been a primary care doctor at LA Grande Family Medical for the last 14 years. He enjoys astronomy, photography, backpacking, hunting and scuba diving.
Ellen Shoenfelder, MD
Dr. Ellen Schoenfelder went to the University of Michigan, were she graduate from medical school. She then moved to the Grande Ronde Valley in 1987 and has been practicing here ever since. She has been at LaGrande Family Medical for over 30 years, specializing in Family Medicine. Ellen enjoys all the outdoor activities that Eastern Oregon has to offer, skiing, biking and hiking. Jacob Davison, PA-C
Jacob S. Davison, PA-C grew up in Scappoose, Oregon with his parents and four siblings. He earned his undergraduate degree in Biology from Pacific University in Forest Grove, Oregon where he also met his wonderful wife. He gained patient care experience as a Physical Therapy Aide before getting his Physician Assistant degree at Pacific University. Having a passion for rural medicine combined with the natural beauty Eastern Oregon has to offer, he found a great a team to join at La Grande Family Medicine. Jacob and his wife enjoy backpacking, camping, and snow sports, and are excited for the new experiences this side of the state will bring. They are avid board game and card game players. Jacob is excited to build his practice and get to know the great people of La Grande.
